Most of the world reacted with outrage to the deadly surprise attack on Israel by the Islamist militant group Hamas on Saturday, as Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was at war.

Republican presidential candidate and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wasted no time in using the ongoing conflict as an opportunity to take a dig at President Joe Biden.

“Biden’s appeasement of Israel’s enemies has invited this war against Israel,” Christie sounded off on X, formerly known as Twitter.

More than 500 Israelis were reportedly wounded and 70 were killed.

“We are at war,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address, declaring a mass army mobilization. “Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war.”

“The enemy will pay an unprecedented price,” he added, promising that Israel would “return fire of a magnitude that the enemy has not known.”
