Las Vegas man charged for threatening Jewish senator, allegedly vowing ‘to finish what Hitler started’

A Las Vegas man has been arrested for allegedly leaving a Jewish senator vile antisemitic voicemails — calling her “vermin” and vowing to “finish what Hitler started,” according to a federal complaint.

John Anthony Miller, 43, is now facing federal charges of threatening a federal official for the messages he left between Oct. 11 and Oct. 19, and again on Oct. 24.

The federal complaint does not name the senator Miller allegedly threatened, but Jacky Rosen, a Democrat from Nevada who describes herself as an “outspoken supporter of Israel,” confirmed she was the recipient.

“Threats against public officials should be taken seriously,” a spokesperson for her office said in a statement, adding: “Senator Rosen trusts the US Attorney’s Office and federal law enforcement to handle this matter.”

The messages called Rosen, who once served as president of her local synagogue, slurs like “vermin” and threatening to “finish what Hitler started,” according to the complaint.

The caller once even tried to tie the senator’s support of Israel to her faith in a message saying, “You done picked your side bitch and you done chose evil. I don’t give a f–k if you were born into it or not, bitch, you are f–king evil, bitch and we’re gonna exterminate you, f–k,” according to the complaint.

Two days later, he allegedly called again and said: “Senator, I’m sorry to say, but ya know what, you’re a piece of s–t and you’re gonna burn in f–king hell for your f–ing crimes.”

Other messages mentioned Israeli settlements and the West Bank.

In one ominous message, the caller even allegedly told Rosen he would see her soon.

Then Miller tried to get into the Las Vegas courthouse on Oct. 18 to see the senator, but was refused entry, the complaint says.

At that point, he allegedly started walking down Las Vegas Boulevard yelling that he wanted “to kill every last Israeli terror-f–ing-rist.”

A final message reportedly came on Oct. 24, this time from an unidentified number, when the caller threatened the senator’s family.

The voice and speech pattern matched that of the earlier voicemails, and police were able to trace the cell phone number from the earlier calls to a T-Mobile account registered to Miller.

A final message reportedly came on Oct. 24, this time from an unidentified number, when the caller threatened the senator’s family.

He had also left his name in one of the messages, police claim, and they were also able to confirm his identity based on surveillance footage from outside the federal courthouse on Oct. 18 — comparing his likeness to that of a previous mugshot, according to the complaint.
