Newly released video shows the moment cops searching for the children of Utah YouTuber Rube Franke stormed her mansion — and later found two of the kids at the home of a woman who worked at her counseling service.
Franke — a “momfluencer” who ran the now-banned YouTube channel “8 Passengers” — and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were arrested Aug. 30 after one of her kids escaped from the latter’s home while emaciated and with duct tape on his extremities.
The two women were originally charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse, but four additional counts of child abuse were added a week later.
On the day of Franke’s arrest, her kids were found separated by hundreds of miles, according to KUTV.
After the escaped boy went to a neighbor’s home to call 911, police began searching for Franke’s two other minor kids.
At first, cops in Springville thought they might be at her home, but when they served a warrant it was unoccupied, so they began searching elsewhere.
They eventually arrived at the home of Pam Bodtcher, an employee of ConneXions — the counseling service Franke ran with Hidebrandt — and located the two children, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Body cam video obtained by KUTV shows a roughly 90-minute exchange between American Fork police, Bodtcher, her husband and the kids.
“I don’t even know what this is all about,” Bodtcher tells the officers as her husband asks if they have a warrant, which they confirm.
One officer remains at the doorway with the husband and a girl while the other officer speaks with Bodtcher inside his vehicle, where she sat in handcuffs.
The first officer asks the child if she has any shoes because she is only wearing socks.

“It’s just a simple question … you don’t have to look at grandpa to know whether or not you have shoes,” the cop tells the girl as Bodtcher’s husband clarifies that he is not the grandfather.

In another conversation, a cop tells Bodtcher that St. George and Springville police had told them to go to inside her home, locate Franke’s girl and detain the employee until “questions are answered.”
“She comes over to my house all the time,” the woman says of the girl.
