Dimitry Rappoport allegedly sent the menacing missive to Lehman College on Oct. 29, the NYPD said.
The nature of the threats and the contents of the email weren’t revealed — but the NYPD is now searching for Rappoport, 41.
“I have no idea why I would be the target of that rage,” Sheriff Anthony Miranda told The Post Saturday.
Miranda, known for policing the city’s marijuana shops, said he was taking steps to protect himself and his family.
“They wouldn’t have brought it to my attention if the threats weren’t serious,” Miranda said. “The police department and sheriff’s office are working to address those threats.”
Rappoport, who attended a class or seminar at Lehman over the summer, threatened to do physical harm to the sheriff in the message, law enforcement sources said.
