Crazed boyfriend hacked up partner with chainsaw — and told 911 she was ‘possessed’: cops

Jeffrey Rael, 47, was found armed with a hammer and a cross when police arrived at the Phoenix home after he made the disturbing admission to a dispatcher before dawn Friday, according to court documents obtained by AZ Family.

Cops found a blood-soaked chainsaw in the kitchen — near the hacked-up remains of Rael’s long-time girlfriend, Paxton Wallace, 31, who was butchered beyond recognition.

The body was covered in “cutting-type” injuries from a “sharp-bladed instrument,” Phoenix police said.

Rael had called 911 around 3:40 a.m., according to the court documents, which said he told the dispatcher “he had to kill her because she was possessed.”

It’s not clear what led to the gruesome killing, which remains under investigation.

Police took Rael to a local hospital before he was booked at the Maricopa County Jail for first-degree murder.

He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Wallace’s grieving family members said they knew Rael has a criminal history, but never suspected he was capable of this kind of violence.

“Just wild. I mean, we’ve spent holidays with him. We’ve shared our home with him for multiple years,” Paxton’s sister Alida Wallace told AZ Family. “We had many cherished moments with him before this, and now they’re just all stained.”

Alida Wallace said Paxton “was trying to get out” of the relationship — but worries she was suffering more than she let her family know.

“No one wants to say that someone who said they love them is hurting them,” Wallace said.
