Dramatic video captures the moment a suspected ISIS-inspired teen hurled an IED during shocking scenes outside New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Gracie Mansion home, according to police.
The short clip shows Emir Balat, 18, coming up behind a speaker addressing a small crowd outside the Upper East Side mansion Saturday before hurling something over his head and out of shot.

In the panic and confusion, Walter Masterson, a comedian and actor who had been speaking to the group, stops talking as photographers fight their way through to capture pictures of the alleged improvised explosive device.
“I was in the middle of saying ‘as a born and raised New Yorker, we welcome everyone into this city,’ when he threw that over my head,” Masterson said in a post sharing the clip of the incident on X.
Masterson was one of around 75 counterdemonstrators who showed up to protest a smaller demonstration organized by right-wing activist Jake Lang called “Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City, Stop New York City Public Muslim Prayer.”
