Ex-Cuomo, Hochul aide, husband arrested in corruption probe after feds raided her $3.5M LI home

Confirmed. Former Deputy chief of Staff for Governor Hochul. @lindasun84

Linda Sun and her husband, Christopher Hu, were arrested on Long Island, the FBI confirmed to The Post.

The charges remained under seal. Sun and Hu are set to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources say the arrest was part of a corruption probe unrelated to the governor. Sun was first hired to work in the governor’s office by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Sun was fired from her job at the state Department of Labor after “evidence of misconduct” was discovered, The Post was first to report earlier this year.

A $3.5 million home in Manhasset belonging to Sun and Hu was raided by the FBI in July.

Hu owned and ran a liquor store in Flushing, Queens, as well as several other business ventures, including an LLC involved in medical equipment that popped up around the pandemic.

Sources say Sun has close ties to Queens Democrats, especially Asian-American lawmakers. She was an ally and high-ranking staffer to then Assemblywoman Grace Meng (D-NY) before Meng was elected to the US House of Representatives.

Amongst Sun’s responsibilities in the Cuomo administration, she served as a liaison for Asian American affairs.

Sun also worked for Empire State Development in a role that involved creating ties with businesses and coordinating trade missions, according to her LinkedIn profile. Sources say her portfolio focused on South and East Asian countries including China.

Albany insiders have speculated how Sun and her husband could afford the $3.5 million Manhassett home.

According to state payroll records, Sun made $152,217 during her last full year working for the Department of Labor.
