The son of WWE icon Hulk Hogan was arrested for DUI early Saturday morning, 16 years since he was involved in a horrifying car wreck in the same Florida city.
Nick Hogan was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence shortly before 4 a.m. and refused to take a sobriety test, according to jail records.
He was released late Saturday and was assessed a $500 bond.
The exact details of the incident remain unclear.
Before the arrest, Nick Hogan was seen on his Instagram page attending a bikini contest at his dad’s restaurant in the Clearwater area on Friday night, TMZ reported.
Nick Hogan, whose real name is Nicholas Bollea, had previously been involved in a horrific car crash in Clearwater in 2007.
The wreck left Hogan’s friend, John Graziano, with a severe brain injury.
Graziano, who was an active-duty Marine at the time, was a passenger in Nick Hogan’s car when it careened off the road and struck a tree in Clearwater while drag racing against a friend, according to People.
Hogan, who was 17 years old, spent eight months in Pinellas County Jail after pleading no contest to a charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.
Cops alleged alcohol was involved, even accusing Hulk Hogan of supplying the booze to his underage son.
Nick Hogan was additionally sentenced to five years probation and 500 community service hours. His license was also suspended for three years.
Due to good behavior, he was released from prison after serving around six months.
The Graziano family sued the Hogans over the accident that left John under 24/7 care for the rest of his life.

Hulk Hogan shared that the crash was a wake-up call to his son, who he felt “was moving through life and maybe not real appreciative of things.”
“When this happened, it totally spun him in a 180… It’s the best thing that ever happened to him. I’m not saying it’s a good thing. But it happened for a reason,” the Hulkster told People in 2007.
In 2010, Nick made an appearance on Good Morning America to detail the night the “horribly devastating” accident occurred.
“It’s hard to move on every day and be positive when there’s something that’s so horribly devastating,” Nick Hogan said.
The wrestling star’s son admitted that there were days when he couldn’t “even get out of bed” following the wreck.
“John’s my brother, we practically lived together and I just remember finding out about how bad everything was. It’s still hard for me to think about it,” he said.
“I pray every day that I will be able to deal with it. It’s still at this point it’s too much to think about. It’s something that I carry with me every day.”
