Man set on fire in Times Square, leaving him horrifically burned: video

Video from the scene showed the moments immediately after the attack on the 45-year-old man.

The victim is clearly in pain and covered in burns as authorities placed him inside an ambulance after putting out the blaze.

Dozens of first responders can be seen in the clip surrounding the scene as the victim stands on the sidewalk, shirtless and huddled in a blue blanket.

The footage also showed cops talking to an apparent companion of the victim, who was wearing a short dresss and high heels.

The NYPD responded to reports of a man on fire at W. 41st and Seventh Ave. just before 4 a.m. Sunday, according to cops.

Fire Marshals at the scene told The Post that someone threw accelerant on the victim at the corner of 41st and Broadway and lit him on fire.

The attacker used a small Patron tequila bottle to douse the victim in some kind of accelerant, according to crime scene investigators.

The victim then ran 100 feet west while on fire before someone jumped out of a car and doused him with a powder fire extinguisher, the marshals added.

Authorities said they believe he was set on fire, but did not immediately have a name for the perpetrator.

A Brooklyn woman who works at a nearby restaurant told The Post the area gets “pretty scary” early in the morning — and there aren’t many cops around to help.

“That guy [the victim] looks familiar. I see him hanging around here when I have to come in early,” Anne Lee, 26, said. “Yeah it’s pretty scary before 8 or 9 a.m. There are no cops on these blocks at all. These side streets. They’re really only on the Avenues and they only give directions to tourists.”

The NYPD could not say whether the attack was targeted or random.

EMS took the man to New York Presbyterian Cornell where he is in stable condition, police said.

The NYPD could not say whether the attack was targeted or random.

The perp ran north on Broadway following the attack, fire marshals said.

Authorities were trying to get security camera footage from nearby businesses to try and identify the suspect.

No arrests have been made. Police investigation is ongoing.
