Don’t get your knickers in a twist over it.
A talking-head news interview took an awkward turn Monday when a man wearing nothing but his underwear strolled behind commentator Dick Morris as he sat in what appeared to be someone’s living room.
Host Rob Schmitt was speaking with the famous political consultant over a remote video feed on the Newsmax cable news outlet about Monday’s Iowa caucus results.
The odd interruption came just as Morris was providing an analysis of what an Iowa caucus victory would mean for former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, according to Mediaite.
While conveying his belief that Trump would “score a huge victory,” a door behind Morris opened, revealing a man seemingly wearing only his boxer shorts and an undershirt.
The man steps out into what appears to be a living room and walks through the room as the interview progresses without making mention of his odd interruption.
“I think the media is going to try to downplay it because, as you correctly said —” Morris begins saying before the man walks through the room. “They’re basically supporting Nikki Haley.”
“So they’re going to downplay it and they’re going to try to say, ‘Oh, he didn’t get a majority,’ or ‘He got 48%.’ But one way or another, this is a huge victory for Donald Trump,” Morris continued.
Morris, an author and former adviser to Bill Clinton, also made no mention of the bizarre moment.
Morris did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
