Alyssa Zinger, of Tampa, was arrested on a slew of sex crime charges last November after police received a tip that she had allegedly posed online as a 14-year-old girl to meet youngsters, cops revealed at the time.
When police first showed up at her family’s home to seize her devices, Zinger’s dad had tried to claim she was the one who had been taken advantage of, according to the bodycam footage obtained by Law&Crime.
“She got messed up with the wrong kid, you know, even though he’s a lot younger,” the father could be heard telling officers in the clip.
“She’s never been in trouble in her life, nothing but she met a kid and he even though he’s young — that’s why we’re we’re in this situation. She never been in trouble in her life until she met him — and this kid’s like insane.”
“Like I said my daughter has never been in trouble in her life, this kid is 14 years old, he’s got girls at his house, videotaping them, making porn at 14,” the dad continued. “My daughter’s 22, she was a virgin ’til she was 21.”
At one point, the dad also told cops his “beautiful young daughter” had “a lot of problems” and “mental issues.”
Zinger, who was later taken into custody, ended up being accused of engaging in at least 30 sexual acts with at least one middle school student between the ages of 12 and 15, as well as sending explicit videos to several others.
She allegedly communicated with her victims on Snapchat, police said.
At the time of her arrest, Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw had described Zinger as a “predator” and said she could have more victims.
“It is disturbing and unsettling to see an adult take advantage of a child and prey on them,” he said.
“Anyone who may have been a victim of Zinger’s, we encourage you to come forward. The Tampa Police Department will support you and ensure a predator like Zinger doesn’t cause you or others additional harm.”
