A Westchester County mom was killed when her car was crushed by a tree during Wednesday night’s vicious rain storm.

The woman – who has not been named publicly – was traveling northbound on Route 128 in Armonk when the tree struck her vehicle around 5:30 p.m., the North Castle Police Department said.

The victim was the sole occupant of the vehicle, the press release added.

The incident is currently under investigation by the North Castle and Westchester County Police Departments.

The woman’s child’s school had resources in plan Thursday morning, CBS News reported.

Reports of the accident first went live around 5:40 p.m., when the Westchester Fire Wire posted on Facebook that fire and EMS responded to a tree down on a car with one unresponsive person in the vehicle.

When the teams arrived at the scene, they canceled the medics and turned it over to the police, the agency said.
