Matthew Hertgen, 31, said nothing during the brief videoconference hearing — during which his defense attorney asked for a week-long delay to prepare and review the discovery.

Judge Amber Gibbs agreed, and set the next in-person court date for March 6 in Mercer County Superior Court.

Defense attorney Jason Matey also plans to meet his client in jail on March 4.

Hertgen was been charged with murder for the gruesome Saturday night killing in which he allegedly beat and stabbed to death his brother, Joseph Hertgen, with a golf club and a knife.

Then he tore out his brother’s eyeball and ate it and set the family cat on fire, according to police sources.

He faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted.
