SF Giants’ 9-beer, 9-hot dog challenge exposed as $55 fraud

The San Francisco Giants‘ take on the viral 9-9-9 challenge is nothing but a $55 fraud, fuming fans revealed.

Enthusiastic attendees of Opening Day at SF’s Oracle Park have pointed out that the team’s promotional concession box filled with nine beers and nine hot dogs — meant to be consumed over nine innings — falls well short of the expected proportions despite its expensive price tag.

The box features nine mini hot dogs and nine small cups — which can be filled by a single, 24-ounce can of beer, SFGATE reported.

Typically, the challenge involves drinking nine cans of beers and eating nine regular hot dogs.

Concession company Aramark is behind the box, which is also available at the New York Mets’ Citi Field, Philadelphia Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park, Colorado Rockies’ Coors Field, Houston Astros’ Daikin Park and the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium.

Purchasing the San Francisco Giants’ 9-9-9 challenge box gets you nine mini dogs, nine glasses (an estimated 3-4 ounces) and a tall can of Coors Light. But the beer is not enough to fill every glass up to the level that anyone would consider a regular pour. pic.twitter.com/x8IJ3FMKZs

The company said the 9-9-9 challenge box will help “re-energize the fan experience,” as Major League Baseball sees its first games of the season.

But fans expressed their displeasure at the shrunken-down version of the challenge.

“They don’t even know casual Baseball fans. Even people who rarely drink will down more than a Tall boy at a Baseball game,” one Reddit commenter wrote.

But fans expressed their displeasure at the shrunken-down version of the challenge.

“Every ballpark now is trying to be known for its one cool concession item. This has to be the lamest one I’ve seen yet. Who came up with this?” a commenter added on X.

“So it’s really a 9-1-9 challenge,” another added.
